About Khin Chez Tan a.k.a. Irene Tan

Irene is one of the volunteers for Potto Project. In 2007, she answered an ad in Craigslist to volunteer as an English editor for the subject Oblique Shock. She met Dr. Bar-Meir and since then, has helped in improving grammar and sentence construction in Dr Bar-Meir's writings. She has also contributed to design, layout and other issues related to Potto's books. Thereafter, she progressed to work on his textbooks, make posts to WordPress, enhancing the Potto logo, and editing several Potto Project research papers.

In addition to her work in Potto Project, Irene is an author and an independent publisher. She has published several fictional works under the pen name of J. Lionel Hearts. These novels can be found in ebook stores such as Smashwords and Apple iBookstore. Besides writing, she has a passion for design; putting graphics together with text. She worked as a technical writer for Lumenergi, Inc. USA, CustomerLogic Australia; as a project coordinator for BookPal Australia, and currently as a freelance graphics designer and ibooks-EPUB3 producer. Prior to becoming an independent publisher, she was a systems analyst--cum--software developer for a large manufacturing concern in Kedah, Malaysia.

Through Potto Project, Irene learned about the world of LaTeX, open content, and what Dr Bar-Meir was doing for students all over the world, as an educator in the fields of fluid mechanics and die casting. She appreciates the community of open content and open source developers and contributors. She is currently using Sigil, an open source EPUB editor, for her ebooks development.
